Research Lines
Research Line 1. Cell surface glycobiology. Characterization of Cysteine-EndoPeptidases (CEPs) and apoplastic type-III peroxidases (PRXs) that impact on the assembly/disassembly of cell wall Extensins (EXT) glyconetwork and in the overall cell wall structure in growing root hairs. Research Line 2. Cell surface RALF-FER signaling. Roles of RALF (Rapid Alkalinization Factor) peptides that control the signaling pathway involving Receptor Like Kinases FERONIA (FER) during root hair growth. How RALFs-FER-downstream components of the signaling cascades are linked to extracellular signals such nutrients/water and temperature?. Research Line 3. Calcium dynamics inside the plant cells. Functions of Ca+2-ATPases in root develoment and pollen tube polar growth. How intracellular Ca2+ reservoirs are coordinated to contribute to the cytoplasmic Ca+2 gradient in these polar growing cells?. In collaboration with Jorge Muschietti lab at INGEBI (CONICET). Research Line 4. Transcriptional cascades activated by complex environmental signals. Identify the transcriptional network controlled by transcription factors activated by environmental signals (nutrients, temperatures, abiotic stress) in root hair cells using RNA-seq and CHIP-seq approaches. How these signals as extracellular inputs are decoded into a define transcriptional network in these single plant cells?. |
